Not very honest at all! I went to them because my AC was blowing hot air. They told us they would fix it for $150 by doing a discharge, refill of the freon. I asked if that would fix it and if there was any issues with the compressor. They said it would fix it and blow cold air after the service, and if there is any leaks in the system, we would be able to see that to within a week or two. So I had them do it for me, they charged me $150 for absolutely nothing, because they later figured out that what they had done couldn’t fix the problem, and that there actually is a issue with the compressor. They now want me to pay $1400 to change that compressor. So the $150 I paid got me absolutely NOTHING at all! At least be honest enough and say that we made a mistake and the issue was not what we thought it was, so you don’t have to pay for this service! STAY AWAY! Edit: Greg, you have been misinformed by your customer representative. We were definitely told that the evac, recharge would do the job. And I did add freon to the system before coming back next day, but they probably didn’t even check that. We were definitely not told that the evac, recharge was a diagnostic step!
We absolutely are 100% honest and upfront with our customers on all of our services. We performed a FREE AC check for your spouse, which revealed that your AC compressor was not working as it showed a low amount of freon. The AC system will not work if there is too low or too high amounts of freon. The next step is a Evac & Recharge of the freon to have a baseline for the system to work properly. This is a diagnostic step that was clearly explained to your spouse and is in writing on your invoice. We do not promise or state that the Evac & Recharge will "Fix" any AC issues because again it is a diagnostic step that must be followed to determine the root cause of any AC concerns. It was explained that if you proceeded with replacing the AC compressor that there would NOT be an additional charge for a Evac & Recharge since you have already paid for this step in the process. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding regarding this process, which must be done to determine the root cause for your issues.
